One morning I woke up and thought about one word – purpose. How many days do I wake up and not fulfill my God-given purpose? How many days do I just go round and round on the hamster-wheel of life?

If you’re not careful, you’ll get stuck in the mundane and the routine instead of living out your life as God would have you to. It is important that we do not hide from opportunity and purpose, because with God, both are always there.

There is a song that I worship to that says, “It’s His breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise to You only.” It got me thinking about every breath I take. With every breath, I can please God and live according to His plan and purpose for my life.

Instead of going through the motions, I can wake up to purpose. Purpose is not about man receiving you; it is about God receiving you. God-given purpose gives us a reason to wake up every morning. I may not know what your specific purpose is but I do know each one of us has a purpose because God has written one out for every single one of us. He has a plan for your life no matter how young or old you may be. It’s His breath in your lungs and there is a reason – a purpose – for your life. God is so big that He can even be in the details of our everyday lives.

I don’t know what is holding you back or what has tried to stop you, but I am here writing to you to tell you to keep trying, keep fighting for your faith, and keep pursuing your God-given dreams. Don’t focus on the problems you have, focus on the promises He gave. Do what you can where you are at with what you have. All God asks us to do is the possible and have faith that He will do the impossible.

There is a cute little saying that when a Christian woman’s feet hit the ground in the morning the devil says, “Oh no, she’s up.” I want to change it up a bit and focus on what God says when I wake up in the morning and I hope He can say, “Good, she’s up. It’s time to get to work.”

And I’ll reply, “How will you use me today, Lord?”
