When I saw that this post would be released on July the fourth, I immediately knew what I wanted to write on: FREEDOM!
Many people walk around this life with invisible chains wrapped around them – chains of bitterness, hurt, sadness, guilt, anger, pride, jealousy, etc… They’ll go about their day secretly in bondage.
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free,
and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
Whatever you have been bound to has to come under submission to the Blood of Jesus when you receive Him as your Lord and Savior. You don’t have to be bound by the chains of your past or present circumstance. God can release you from your invisible prison when you embrace His truth – His Word. There is freedom in knowing Christ. There is freedom in knowing AND believing on what is written in the Bible. You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Jesus is my truth, my compass, my rock.
I do not stand on my own and say, “I am free.” I stand behind Christ and say, “He has made me free.” All of the accusations against me – the wars that I have made – have been put on Him and He paid all of my sinful debts. Now that I have been set free, I must live like it and never return to the bondage He brought me out of. The war has already been won. Our freedom has been bought. No longer do we have to be enslaved to the things of this world. Freedom is ours.
As you celebrate America’s independence and pay respect to those who serve, don’t forget who has truly brought us freedom in all things. Let freedom ring in your life!
